I'm a professional wedding photographer based in Nice, France. I bought his book after having used Kevin's filters and tools hundreds of times. This book is thin, but it's worth its weight in gold, at least for me. Kevin's like his filters: straight to the point. Not much chit-chat like some well-known best sellers writers. Each chapter brings you a leap forward; each paragraph gives you the magic boots that fly.If you read through the index you may claim that an experienced photographer should know everything written there and more. But, hey, sometimes a small thing makes a great difference, and this book has taught me many little things.....Thanks, Kevin, from my heart. Max
Boot Camp has helped me tremendously. I made the switch from film to digital in my photography business 4 months ago. I really didn't know what I was getting myself into, but this book has made the transition successful. I keep it right next to my Mac and use it almost every day. The three most important tools for me in my business...my Canon camera, my Mac computer, and Boot Camp by Kevin Kubota.
Unbelievable! I have read a bunch of Lighroom and Photoshop books but nothing made sense like this one. Right from the workflow to retouching to tips and tricks...this book has it all. The only one you will ever need.I wish Kevin wrote more books that I could buy!!!!!
With all the excellent reviews I was expecting a book that would offer a lot more than it did. Two thirds of this work deals with post capture processing.For the most part this is a book on how to manipulate your capture to get a more pleasing final product. Photo Shop One on One is much more comprehensive and I would recommend that book for anyone that us interested in learning how to in Photoshop. To Boot Camps credit the author does a good job in explaining how to correct the hand full of short commings in capture with Photoshop.More bang for your post capture processing buck and knowledge else where.
This is a great book focused on workflow and Lightroom and Photoshop alterations. I don't have Lightroom, but the Photoshop actions that Kevin goes through are nothing short of excellent! This is a great book and I would HIGHLY recommend it to any wedding photographer!

Very detailed. Lots of good, practical suggestions. Still reading, and enjoying every page.
The Kindle version delivered was the 2006 first edition even though I ordered it off of the 2008, 2nd edition page at Amazon. Putting the cursor on the Kindle link produced a pop up of the 1st edition cover but showed a publication date of 2010 leading one to believe it was an even newer edition. Not so.Buy the hard copy.
